Late, A Cowboy Song

Sarah Ruhl’s play tells the somewhat comic, somewhat tender story of Mary, a young woman who needs time to slow down. As the play progresses she finds herself torn between her longtime partner, Crick, and her emerging relationship with an old acquaintance, Red (a modern day cowboy who happens to be a woman). The play is certainly a love story, but like all great love stories it is also about Mary’s journey to find who she needs to be.
